Ms. Deng Yuanyuan is a teacher at the Jilin City middle school and she’s been getting a rise out of the internet recently.
Deng teaches biology, the study of life and living organisms including growth, function and reproduction. She educates her students on the miniature world of microorganisms to the complexity of the human anatomy.
Deng mixes in fun facts about how the human heart beats and pumps more than 100,000 times every day. Did you know that not only do humans have unique fingerprints, but each person has unique tongue print as well?
Deng also likes to go deep into lessons about DNA helicase and their burning desire to unzip genes.
She offers hands-on lessons for her favorite, fungi. These mushroom tips have been around a lot longer than your junk. Fungi appeared just before the great Cambrian explosion that took place 540 million years ago.
Most of the major animal phyla of our world appeared during this short period of evolution. They evolved into some of the most beautiful creatures on the planet, including Ms. Deng.
