The event will be broadcast on TV on GMA Network with a simulcast over Super Radyo dzBB.
The debate will start at 5 p.m. Philippine Standard Time with live streaming available on the Kapuso Network. It will be mounting the first ever 360-degree livestream coverage of a live event in the Philippines, and one of the first worldwide, in its coverage of the first leg of the “PiliPinas Debates 2016.”
GMA Network said that the technology will allow any web user to pan the camera viewaround the venue in near-real-time.
The upcoming debate will have a modified two-moderator format. Moderators will be award-winning GMA anchors Mike Enriquez and Jessica Soho along with John Nery of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Candidates will be questioned on a variety of issues mainly on agriculture development, poverty reduction, charter change and peace and order for the Mindanao leg.
Expect Vice President Jejomar Binay, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Sen. Grace Poe, Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago deliver their opening statements and answer queries. Philstar reported that the five candidates have confirmed attendance at the first of three debates before the May 9 ballot.
