Mantis' eat other arthropods from bees to moths and from beetles to spider. They are capable of eating small reptiles like snakes to lizards, and also small rodents to even small birds. Because mantis' do not have venom or constriction, the use their powerful front legs as a scythe to devour prey alive. The begin with the prey's neck and head to paralyze and hopefully kill the prey to minimize scrambling and acts of further defense.
